[Expedition] South
south.com
If you read that description you know these guys are crazy, but I love watching the amazing accomplishments of mere men, especially from the comfort of my living room. Their journey is being funded by private individuals, each paying $100 to sponsor a mile of their trek. Here's wishing them luckHere's the plan. The first return journey to the South Pole on foot and the longest unsupported polar journey in history. In October next year, Tony Haile and I will set out from Scott's hut, on the shores of McMurdo Sound on a 1,800-mile, four-month round trip, from the coast of Antarctica to the South Pole and back. No dogs, no vehicles, no kites, no resupplies. We're calling it SOUTH.
The great Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen made the only return journey, using dogs, 93 years ago. His rival Captain Scott died on his return from the Pole just 11 miles from the relative safety of his largest depot. Since then every expedition has either been flown out from the Pole or used dogs, kites or vehicles. Many people have blamed Scott's failure on his reliance on human power, and many experts still believe an entirely human-powered journey of this magnitude to be impossible. We think otherwise.

Help
Add 'em to the comments, E-mail them to me or tag stuff WhiteHotNow at del.icio.us so that I can find it. I really like doing this site, but there's only so much of the Internet that one's exposed to on their own.

[Photography] Mute
mute.rigent.com
Mute is a photo-blog, plain and simple. Some really great photos, lots of vivid portraits. Miles has been posting daily for a year, and I can tell you already that that is quite an accomplishment in itself.

[Tech.Gadgets] Gizmodo
gizmodo.com
Gizmodo, the gadget guide. So much in love with shiny new toys, it's unnatural. If you check back in the archives you'll notice the first site ever featured on White Hot Now was the tech gadget site Engadget, one of my favorites. Well, long before Engadget began this site was covering the tech gadget scene, helping mold the all-day news style blog which is so popular now. In fact Engadget (let's see how many times I can mention it) was created by one of the original editors of Gizmodo.
While, Gizmodo is still rocking with their humorous style and despite losing another one of their long time top editors on Friday they're now sporting a new look and they've promised not to faulter on thier coverage while they bring new people on board.

[Celebrities] The Superficial, Egotastic, Pink Is The New Blog
thesuperficial.com
The Superficial is a brutally honest look at society and its obsession with the superficial. It is not satire. It is not social commentary. It is the voice of our society at its worst. It is first impressions without sense of social obligation. It is the truth of our generation. It is ugly racism. It is jealousy. It is honest.Just kidding. Our goal is to make fun of as many people as possible.
egotastic.com
Egotastic! is an entertainment blog focussed on movies, music, television, and celebrities.
trent.blogspot.com
This is where I create andThe National Inquirer is dead. They're reporting old news. If you want 24/7 celebrity coverage you've got to go digital, and the blogosphere is there for you. If my earlier mention of Defamer wasn't enough for you, you're gonna want to check out these three sites. They can be a little dirtier (occasionaly even 18+/NSFW) but come on, isn't that what we all want in our celebrity news.
regurgitate all the news
that's fit to type.
Hearsay & Gossip,
Rumor & Fact ...
Pink is the new Blog!
If only we were all famous enough to be followed by photographers. Someday, someday.
